When you add chords to a song, the keyboard also allows you to have a bass and drum accompaniment at the same time. Chords are indicated by chord symbols, which are written above the staff. In the following exercise there are two bars of the C chord followed by two bars of the G7 chord. To play the next example:
This exercise includes a suggested rhythm. You can, however, use any voice or rhythm you like.
Press the C key once and let the chord play for two bars, then do the same with the G7 chord. Repeat this exercise, then press the stop button. Once you have pressed a chord key, the chord will continue to play automatically, so you will have time to move your fingers into a new position for the next chord.
