Earlier in the book you learned the Blues scale in the keys of A and E. The following diagram shows the Blues scale formula applied to the key of C, along with the fingering for the E form of the C Blues scale.
Play through it many times in different positions on the fretboard until you have it in your memory. Try playing it with your eyes closed and visualize each note on the fretboard as you play it. As you do this, sing the names of the scale degrees. If you use this method of practicing any new scale, you will learn it much quicker.
Here are some examples demonstrating the use of the Blues scale. As with previous examples using the minor pentatonic scale, analyze each one and then use what you have learned to create your own licks from the Blues scale.
