Electronic Keyboards

In the next piece both hands shift between the D position and the C position. If you have an electronic keyboard, experiment with different instrumental voices on your keyboard when playing the examples in the book. This example is suited to an organ voice. This means the sound has a different tone quality (called "timbre") to that of a piano voice. Each instrument and human voice has its own particular timbre. All the examples in this book work equally well on a piano or an electronic keyboard.

This example uses the chords Am, Dm and Em. The final bar contains two new low A notes, one played by each hand.
