Whole Tone Scale

The whole tone scale is another useful scale, particularly for playing over augmented chords and dominant chords with a raised 5th. The whole tone scale contains six different notes and is made up entirely of major second intervals. The following example shows the C whole tone scale in the open position. As with previous scales, play it several times until you have the sound memorized.
