The Scale

Lesson 2/19 | Study Time: 5 Min
The Scale

The Scale

Using a separate sheet of paper, copy the following notes and write under each one whether it is on a space or a line, by putting S or L.

When notes move step-like on the staff (line-space-line-space etc.), they are called a scale.

The following scale is called G Major scale. The F note in the G Major scale is always sharp.

Practice and memorize this scale and use it to practice stretching your left hand fingers, hovering them over the correct frets. Also use it from now on, every time you start playing, to loosen up your fingers.

Sometimes an F sharp is put at the beginning of a piece, just after the treble clef, instead of writing sharp signs in front of every F note. All F notes are now played as F sharp.
