The E Major Scale
The E major scale contains four sharp notes – F#, C#, G#, and D#.
The sharp sign for the note D# is written on the fourth line of the staff.
Note that the sharp sign for the G space above the staff also applies to G notes on the second line of the staff, and to G notes in the space below the second ledger line below the staff.
The four sharp signs together form the key signature for E major.
