So far you have used six time signatures: %, ^, *, $, Q and W.
In this lesson you will learn a new time signature: the ) time signature.
In any time signature, the number on the top half tells you how many beats there are in each bar. E.g., in ^ time, the number 3 tells you that each bar has three beats. In ) time, the number 6 indicates that there are six beats in each bar.
The number on the bottom half of a time signature tells you what kind of beats you are counting. E.g., in ^ time, the number 4 tells you that you are counting quarter note beats. In ) time, the number 8 indicates that the beats being counted are eighth note beats. Thus, each bar of ) time contains the equivalent of six eighth note beats.
