The first solo in this book is played in dropped D tuning. A variety of chord shapes and left hand techniques are used.
This piece also contains first and second endings. Play to the first ending, ( Z ), then go back to the beginning. The second time you play through the song, play the second ending ( X ) instead of the first.
* The instruction D.S. al Coda means that you play the song again from the sign V until you reach the coda sign ( v ) and then jump to the second coda sign at the end of the piece.
Bits and Pieces is another solo in dropped D tuning. This piece is made up of five different sections. Special attention should be given to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th time endings.
The final piece in this section is a classical guitar solo by Francisco Tarrega. This solo should be played freely. It is good play along with metronome to get a good sense of timing.
