If you look at the positions of the root notes (key notes) in the previous scale pattern, you will notice that they form a triangular pattern. In the following basic E chord and E form bar chord (root 6), you can see that the root notes are in the same positions as they are in the scale pattern. This is why the scale pattern can be described as the E form of the scale, or Pattern 1.

Here are some licks which use the minor pentatonic scale in different keys. The first one uses the C minor pentatonic as shown at the beginning of this lesson.
This one uses the E minor pentatonic in the 12th position.
Here is a solo which uses most of the techniques you have learned. Pay particular attention to the notes in bar 6 where a bent note is held and picked repeatedly. Take the whole solo slowly until you can comfortably play all the notes. Then memorize it and practice it along with your metronome, gradually increase the tempo over time until you can play it with more confidence.
