Blues Scales in E

Blues Scales in E

Like all scales, the minor pentatonic scale and the Blues scale can be transposed to any key. In this lesson you will learn both of these scales in the key of E. First, here is the E minor pentatonic scale.

Now try this example which is created entirely from the E minor pentatonic scale.

Here is the Blues scale in the key of E. This time the added note ( b5) is Bb .

Once you are comfortable with the Blues scale in E, try this 12 Bar Blues which uses the Blues scale to create lines over the left hand pattern from lesson 16 transposed to the key of E. Practice each hand separately if necessary.
