The following chord progression uses fingerpicking pattern 3. The thumb (p) plays the root note of each chord.
Make use of pivot fingers when changing from C to Am and G7 to Dm. Notice the dotted half note in the final bar of this example.
A tie is a curved line that connects two notes with the same position on the staff. A tie tells you to pick the first note only, and to hold it for the length of both notes.
Pick the D note and hold it for six counts

A tie is used to connect the two dotted half notes in bars 11 and 12 and the last two bars. You can choose to strum or fingerpick an accompaniment to this (or any) song.
