Changing Chords

Lesson 4/26 | Study Time: 5 Min
Changing Chords

Changing Chords

Practice changing between the C and G chords. Because there is a G note in each chord, you can keep your fifth finger on the G note as you change chords. You can also keep your fifth finger on the G note when changing back from the G chord to the C chord. This will make changing chords very easy. Now, go to Camels and Gorillas and play that song using fingered chords.

Practice changing between the C and G chords in this song.

Suggested Rhythm: Tango

The song My House contains all the notes and chords you have learned so far.

Voice: Organ
Rhythm: Pop

You can now go back and play all the songs from Exercise 1 onwards, using the fingered C and G chords.
In all the new songs you learn you can use either fingered chords or one-finger chords, whichever you prefer.

In bars 7 and 15 of Lightly Row, you play two chords in each bar. Each chord lasts for two beats. You may wish to practice these bars separately at first.

Voice: Piano
Rhythm: Pop
