Introducing Guitar, consisting of three instruction books and three supplementary songbooks, has been designed to introduce you to the basics of guitar playing and reading music.
To maximize your enjoyment and interest, the books contain and extensive repertoire of well-known songs. All the songs have been carefully graded into an easy-to-follow, lesson by lesson format, which assumes no prior knowledge of music or the guitar. Chord symbols and easy strum patterns are provided above each song.
Introducing Guitar Book 1 incorporates very easy arrangements involving the first four strings, and four common chord shapes (G, D7, C, G7 and D). It introduces you to * and ^ time, playing both melodies and chords. It also includes quarter, half and whole notes, and their equivalent rests.
You are taught how to read music, and introduced to basic terms such as bar lines, repeat signs and lead-in notes.
Introducing Guitar Supplementary Songbook A, has been designed to be used in conjunction with Introducing Guitar Book 1. It contains more than 30 additional songs, including 14 duets, which are cross-referenced to the lessons in Book 1.
