For Rock drumming the snare drum should sound sharp, crisp and bright. At the same time it is important to maintain body and depth to prevent the snare from sounding thin. The toms should also have a reasonably bright tone with lots of baby and depth. It is important to keep the high pitched overtones to a minimum for a good Rock sound. The bass drum must be deep and bright with lots of attack.
Each of these drum sounds are sampled on the “How To Tune the Drums” C.D. The individual drums are sampled first, followed by a short solo around the entire kit.
