For Heavy Metal drumming the snare drum should sound thick and deep with a sharp crisp edge. The toms should also sound thick and deep with no high sounds or overtone ringing. The bass drum must be solid and thick with lots of punch and no gighs or rings.
Each of these drum sounds are sampled on the “How To Tune the Drums” C.D. The individual drums are sampled first, followed by a short solo around the entire kit.
