Country Slide Licks - Open G/A Tuning

The most popular tuning for county slide guitar is open G or open A tuning. This tuning allows the country slide scale to be played very easily. Examine the following diagram which outlines the two popular positions for country slide in open G/A tuning.

Country Slide Scale - Open G/A Tuning

The next four licks are played within the open position country slide scale. These licks have a distinctive country flavour.

Licks 82-84 feature octaves which can be used in the open position. Hammers, pull-offs and all types of sliding will also appear.

The next four licks use the second position country slide scale in open G/A tuning.
