Other Bar Chord - Shapes

So far all the bar chords discussed have been either root 6 bar chords based upon E formation chords or root 5 bar chords based upon A formation chords. These are the most common bar chords. Some other root 6 and root 5 Bar chords that are often used are shown here. Try applying these chord shapes to the chord progressions in the previous lessons. Notice that the root note for these bar chords is not on the same fret as the bar.
