Other Bar Chord - Types

In the previous lessons of this book you have been introduced to the bar chord shapes for the most common chord types used in Rock, Pop, Country and Blues music, i.e., Major, Minor, Seventh, Sixth, Major Seventh and Minor Seventh. There are many other types of chords. These chords are commonly used in Jazz music and a guitarist would more often than not play them as Jazz chord shapes (see Introduction) rather than Bar chord shapes. There are however some useful Bar chord shapes for these more advanced chord types as shown over the next few pages. For a full listing of every chord type see Progressive Guitar Chords by Gary Turner and Brenton White.
