Moveable Shuffle Patterns

All the shuffle patterns in the previous few lessons have involved the use of open strings, making them unsuitable for moving up and down the fretboard. However, there are other patterns not including open strings, which can easily be moved to any position on the fretboard.

Here once again is the basic shuffle in the key of A, this time played in the fifth position. The first and third fingers remain on the strings, while the fourth finger stretches up two frets on the same string as the third finger.

As with the patterns using open strings, a turnaround can be added to any moveable fingerign. This turnaround is identical to the one used in Example 74, but the fingering has been changed. This now becomes a moveable turnaround.

Here is the turnaround applied to the 12 bar Blues progression.
