The following examples demonstrate the use of slurs involving open strings along with other slurs. They contain groups of slurred notes where only the first note is picked, while the remaining notes are either hammered-on or pulled-off. Make sure all the notes sound clearly and evenly when you play these examples. If you have trouble with any of the hammer-on’s and pull-off’s, isolate each one and practice it repeatedly at a slow tempo until you have control of it and then try the whole example again.
