The Eighth Note Triplet

If we follow the previous rule, it can be seen that there are twelve eighth note triplets in one bar of * time, e.g.: If 6=8 then one bar of eighth note triplets is as follows:

 
 

The following pattern uses eighth note triplets on the hi-hat and is commonly played in ballads and slow blues tunes.

 

The Eighth Note Triplet Rest

This is an eight note triplet rest and indicates silence for the count of one eighth note triplet.
