Introducing Guitar, consisting of three instruction books and three supplementary songbooks, has been designed to introduce you to the basics of guitar playing and reading music.
To maximise your enjoyment and interest, the books contain an extensive repertoire of well-known songs.
All the songs have been carefully graded into an easy-to-follow, lesson by lesson format, which assumes no prior knowledge of music or the guitar. Chord symbols and easy rhythm patterns are provided above each song.
Introducing Guitar, Book 2 incorporates very easy arrangements involving all six strings, and nine new chords (A, E, A7, E7, F, Am, Em, B7, C7 and Dm). It introduces you to 12 bar blues and turnaround progressions, and offers several alternative chord fingerings for smoother chord changes. It also includes sections on bass note picking, and the C and F major scales.
Your ability to read music will be developed, and you will be introduced to new signs such as the eighth rest and the natural sign.
Introducing Guitar, Supplementary Songbook B, has been designed to be used in conjunction with Introducing Guitar Book 2. It contains more than 50 additional songs, which are cross-referenced to the lessons in Book 2.
