Lesson 17 introduces the sixteenth note rhythm. A sixteenth note rhythm is created by strumming four strums to every beat, a total of sixteen strums to every bar. The syllable "e" is used in conjunction with the familiar syllables "and" and "ah" to count the sixteenth note rhythm. Example 34 is counted 1 e and ah, 2 e and ah, 3 e and ah, 4 e and ah, with each beat of the bar played louder. The C Major Seventh chord is used.
