A rhythmical displacement occurs when a series of notes or a phrase shifts to a different place within the music. The displacement often moves ahead or is delayed by one beat or less.
The following examples illustrate syncopated triplet figures.

This time signature is called the six eight time signature. It tells you there are six eighth note beats in each bar. The eighth notes are usually compound into groups of three, e.g.:
