The Minor Pentatonic Scale
The minor pentatonic scale is the most common scale used in Blues lead guitar playing. It is shown below in its most common fingering pattern. Pentatonic means five tones, so this means that there are only five different notes in the scale. The fingering pattern below contains two octaves of the C minor pentatonic scale, which is in the eighth position.
