Whammy Bar Dive

Whammy Bar Dive

The whammy bar dive is also used often in a Metal guitar lick or solo. This technique is achieved by forcing the arm of the whammy bar towards the guitar, tilting the bridge forward and dramatically lowering the pitch of the string. This technique is shown in this next example, to both the open string and a natural harmonic.

Whammy bar dive is notated as a curved line and the initials w.b.d. above the tablature note.

The whammy bar dive is used at the end of this exercise.
