The Tie

A tie is a curved line joining two or more notes of the same pitch, where the second note(s) is not played , but its value added to that of the first note.

This is an example of a commonly used shuffle groove incorporating the "standard" shuffle hi-hat pattern.

This pattern features a rhythmic variation for bass drum and a fill in bar two.

This is an example of a hard driving rock/shuffle groove.
