LESSON EIGHT

Lesson 2/44 | Study Time: 5 Min
LESSON EIGHT

The difference between the monotonic bass solos and the previous exercises is in the bass line. The bass line for these pieces is a droning root bass note on each beat of the bar instead of the alternating bass line we have mainly used in the other supplements.

The first example is in the key of E Major and is based upon a twelve bar blues progression similar to Supplement Number One, in Lesson Seven.

The three bass lines used are for the E Major, A Major and B Seventh chords.

The melody in Example Twenty Five is taken from the E Blues scale. An alternative fingering (written in brackets) has been given for the open first and second strings.
