Open C tuning is not as widely used as the previous open tunings but has been included in this section because of its different sound. This tuning can be used to simulate the sound of a sitar. The second string is raised a semitone. The fourth and fifth strings are lowered a tone and the sixth string is lowered two tones from an "E" to a "C".
