Open Hi-hat Exercises

Open hi-hats are used to accentuate a particular beat or beats within a groove and can be added to any hi-hat hit.
The following examples introduce an open hi-hat(s) to different positions within the bar.

All the following grooves incorporate open hi-hat.

- Try adding open hi-hats to other patterns.
- Try adding open hi-hats to triplet hi-hat patterns.
- Try adding open hi-hats to sixteenth note hi-hat patterns.
