Notes on the First String
The G Note
The open 1st string is a G note.
The A Note
Play this A note with the second finger of your left hand just behind the second fret of the 1st string.
Notes on the Second String
The D Note
The open 2nd string is a D note.
The E Note
Play this E note with the second finger of your left hand just behind the second fret of the 2nd string.
The F Note
Play this F note with the third finger of your left hand just behind the third fret of the 2nd string.
When playing notes the following rules should be observed:
- Use tips of fingers, directly behind frets.
- Hold strings firmly against fretboard.
- Use correct fingering (first finger - first fret, second finger - second fret, etc.).
- Left hand fingers must remain close to the strings at all times; e.g., when an open string is played, your fingers should still be in close proximity.
