In sheet music, the suspended chord is often written as "sus" e.g., Asus indicating A suspended. It can also be written as "sus4". The formula for a suspended chord is I - IV - V, so a Csus chord contains the notes C - F - G, and an Asus chord contains the notes A - D - E.
