The right hand techniques of staccato strumming (Lesson Twenty Nine) and dampening (Lesson Thirty Two) can be combined to create some very popular and interesting rhythms. Try the following rhythms, using the dampening technique on the "1+" and "3+" beats, and a staccato up strum on the 2nd and 4th beats. When playing the staccato up strum, only hit the first and second strings.
