Arpeggio patterns can be used in combination with chord strumming. Try the following pattern, using a triplet rhythm:
The strums occur on the "and a" of the first beat. They are preceded by a bass note, and followed by arpeggio picking (on the second beat). Try this new pattern with a turnaround in C using open chords.
