This first solo is played in the key of C and is played within pattern one. Pattern one in the key of C is positioned between the eighth and eleventh frets as explained in Lesson 4. The solo is made up of licks similar to the ones which have appeared in previous lessons.
The chord progression chosen for this solo is an eight bar rock progression in the key of C. As the chord progression changes through the chords, it will not be necessary to change the position of the pattern. This shows that the C Minor Pentatonic scale can be played over the C Major, F Major and G Major chords.
