lesson 17 will look at pattern four again but this time the key of E has been selected. Pattern four in the key of E is positioned between the seventh and tenth frets as shown in the following diagram. An alternative fingering for pattern four is also indicated in the following diagram. This fingering combines the note found on the bass strings of pattern three with the treble strings of pattern four. Attention should be given to the location of the key notes and the additional note which may be added to the pattern to complete the blues scale.
